Joseph Zaretzki was the center of a struggle between Robert Kennedy and Robert Wagner, mayor of New York, in 1965. Wagner backed Zaretzki for majority leader in the state senate; RFK opposed him. This 3 inch celluloid supported the newly elected Senator Kennedy’s stand. Zaretzki ended up winning when Gov. Nelson Rockefeller had Republican senators support Zaretzki, but it was only the start of a struggle for control of the state Democratic Party. Scarce, excellent condition.
