U.S. Senator Joseph Foraker of Ohio was famous for challenging Theodore Roosevelt about the dishonorable discharge of 167 African-American soldiers after a shooting in Brownsville, Texas in 1906. Foraker is still remembered as a civil rights hero today for standing up to Roosevelt, although it eventually cost him his political career. This scarce 1 1/4 inch celluloid is in excellent condition. Obviously it is TR related but most TR collectors would prefer to forget Foraker and Brownsville.
