For many years, we were under the impression that there was only a single sample of this 1968 George Romney pin that existed. We now know differently, because here is number two. This rare 3 1/2 inch celluloid recently surfaced and it is only the second that has ever been auctioned, both times in our auction. It is far and away the best George Romney pin of them all and also is highly sought after by 1968 collectors. Pictured in the 1968 A.G. Trimble Company catalogue it always was assumed it was only a sample and never went into production as early in the campaign Romney was a favorite for the Republican nomination but things changed. Since this is only the second to surface, apparently it really was only a sample and never produced in any quantity. Excellent condition.
