Alfred Orendorff was involved in Illinois politics for many years. After serving in the Civil War, he signed on as a lawyer in Springfield with William Herndon, Abraham Lincoln’s former law partner. He twice ran for state treasurer and this oilcloth ribbon pictures him as a potential candidate for governor. It’s a 6 5/8 inch ribbon with creases, pinholes.
