Southern Democrats bolted from the party in opposition to Harry Truman’s support of civil rights in 1948. They formed the States’ Rights Party and backed Strom Thurmond for president. This scarce 1 1/4 inch litho tab is a Mississippi States Rights item in excellent condition. Mississippi was one of the four states Thurmond carried, giving him 39 electoral votes. Excellent condition.
