A fascinating item from the 1896 election. This 7/8 inch William McKinley celluloid stud features an image of a building from the 1893 World’s Fair with two dates Aug. 9, 1893 and Aug. 9, 1896. The 1893 date was “Chicago Day” at the Columbian Exposition. To really get the point across, the stud is attached to a little gold nugget. Excellent.
