A really unusual version of the McKinley gold bug from the 1897 inauguration. This 3 3/8 inch metal piece shows a big gold bug climbing on some flowers. Maybe it was made as belt buckle? Whatever its purpose, it is embossed with the names of McKinley and Hobart, the date of the inauguration and the words, “Souvenir Inauguration.” Excellent condition.
