Martin Luther King Jr. planned the Poor Peoples Campaign in 1968. After his assassination in April of that year, Southern Christian Leadership Conference leaders picked up the mantle and followed through. The campaign’s highlight was the creation of Resurrection City in Washington, D.C., where campaign participants camped for six weeks to publicize the plight of the poor. This scarce 3 1/2 inch celluloid pictures King and is in excellent condition.
