A scarce and fascinating Lyndon Johnson labor related pin. This 1 3/4 inch celluloid says “LBJ We Need Your Help Now at N.Y.S.” and at bottom carries the name of Union Local 801 of the AFL-CIO. We believe that union was the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers Local 801 and that NYS stood for the New York Shipbuilding Corp. of Camden, New Jersey. NYS was in deep financial trouble in the 1960s and went bankrupt in 1968. This pin was made in Philadelphia and is in excellent condition.
