James Blaine classic 1 1/2 inch tall brass mechanical "nose thumber." This is a version of this item without the devil's tail. An 1880 copy of the patent for this item shows versions with the tail and without the tail. We're used to seeing the ones with the tail, but there was a version without the tail and this is an example of that second version.
