: It was only fitting that Ronald Reagan, who played Notre Dame football player George Gipp in the 1940 movie “Knute Rockne, All American” would show up at Notre Dame as a politician some day. On May 3, 1976, Reagan made a campaign appearance at Notre Dame. This scarce 2 1/4 inch celluloid made to be worn by an usher at the event at the Stepan Center is in excellent condition.
