Rare 1 inch celluloid that says goodbye to Calvin Coolidge and howdy to Al Smith. From the 103 ballot Democratic convention where Smith led with over 50% of the delegate votes bt the 2/3 rule meant Southerners could block his nomination and they succeeded. The pin has very unusual manufacturer – “Anderson – Omaha” is printed on the curl. This pin is from the Kevin Lipson collection and is the only one like it we’ve ever seen so it’s one of those now or possibly never opportunities. Small cut to right of “Cal.” Consignor believe he paid over $2500 for the pin.
