This exceptionally rare celluloid pin was made to mark one of the pivotal political events of the 20th century – the creation of the nation of Israel. The 1 1/4 inch pin pictures Harry Truman with the first president of Israel, Chaim Weizmann. Truman originally was opposed to recognizing Israel and refused to meet with Weizmann. But Eddie Jacobson, Truman’s old friend and former business partner, begged Truman to see Weizmann. He relented and Weizmann convinced Truman to recognize Israel, which was a vital step in Israel’s survival. Last time we had this pin was in Auction 170, so take advantage of this rare opportunity! Pin is in excellent condition. The pin came from Bob Phillips' great Truman collection. We believe there are two known examples in the hobby.
