Harry Truman didn’t seem like a likely prospect to promote civil rights. He was from Missouri and his grandparents had owned slaves. But Truman became a champion of the cause, banning segregation in the armed forces and guaranteeing fair employment practices in the civil service system. This 2 1/8 inch celluloid from 1948 showed what side he was on. Excellent.
