Andrew Johnson survived conviction during his impeachment trial by a single vote. This cardboard ticket was printed for the March 13, 1868 session of the Senate. This was the date scheduled for the first day of testimony, which was delayed 10 days after a request by Johnson’s defense committee. We can only imagine the tense atmosphere in the Senate on this day. The rare 4 3/4 inch ticket is in excellent condition.
