The Louisiana State Capitol is pictured on this scarce Ronald Reagan Bayou State pin from 1980. The state capitol sometimes is called the “Huey Long Monument” since Long was governor when it was built, and at 450 feet tall is the tallest state capitol building. It stands tall on this attractive pin. We believe the “102 years” refers to Republicans being confident that they would return to power in Louisiana after 102 years of Democratic domination.
