Browne was a long-time state legislator who ran for the Democratic nomination for governor of Illinois in 1924. In 1910, he was acquitted of charges of bribery and jury tampering (in Illinois! Imagine that!). The case was widely reported on and even attracted comments from former President Theodore Roosevelt. This 7/8 inch litho is a rare Illinois item in excellent condition.
