John Kerry 2 1/4 inch celluloid sailing pin, excellent condition. The 3-inch version of this same design is in this auction as Item #1553. This picture of Kerry originally appeared on the cover of a 1998 American Wind Surfer Magazine. During the week of the DNC on Thursday night there was a Kerry Senate Alumni staff party and Chris Greeley (Kerry's former chief of staff) wanted a button and shirts for the event. This 2 1/4 inch pin was the event button for staff members. The larger 3 inch pin (#1553) was made for Kerry and his family.
