John Nance “Cactus Jack” Garner is pictured on this rare celluloid pin. Garner got his name when he fought for the prickly pear cactus as the Texas state flower while a member of the state legislature. He was a congressman from 1903-1933 and was Speaker of the House from 1931-1933 before becoming vice president. This 2 1/4 inch celluloid with Geraghty back paper is in excellent condition.
