John Brown is pictured on this pin made to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Osawatomie, Kansas, in 1906. The battle took place after Brown and his sons had killed five pro-slavery settlers. A group of pro-slavery men attacked Brown and his followers, killing five, including one of Brown’s sons. This 1 1/2 inch celluloid has a Whitehead and Hoag back paper and is in excellent condition.
