Joe Louis was a different kind of heavyweight champion. Not only was he a great boxer, but he also was politically active and was one of the first African-American athletes to officially support a presidential candidate. In 1940, Louis said he was “in Willkie’s corner” because “I think Willkie will give us a square deal.” This rare 1 1/4 inch celluloid pictures the champ and says “Joe and I Want Willkie.” A super item for political, sports and civil rights enthusiasts in excellent condition.
