Heavyweight boxer Joe Louis was a pioneer in and out of the ring. As an African-American celebrity, he endorsed Wendell Willkie for president in 1940. This scarce 1 1/2 inch celluloid is from that election, when Louis said, “I am for Willkie because I think he will help my people, and I figure my people should be for him, too.” Excellent condition.
