A third version of the James Farmer for Congress pins from New York. Farmer was the organizer of the 1961 Freedom Ride, a legendary moment in civil rights history. In 1968 he ran for Congress in New York and lost to Shirley Chisholm. This 1 1/2 inch celluloid is from that effort. First time we’ve auctioned this pin. Excellent. Minimum bid reduced.
