What does Charlie Chaplin have to do with computers? It was the earliest days of the personal computer and IBM decided that Chaplin’s iconic tramp would be the right image to hook consumers. Most of the “Keeping Up With Modern Times” campaign took place in TV commercials and print ads, but it also included this flasher. It’s a 2 1/4 inch item showing the IBM Tramp carrying a personal computer – it’s a far cry from today’s laptops and tablets. Excellent.
