A rare political item from 1872 picturing a rare kind of politician. This ferrotype pictures Horace Greeley, the Democratic candidate for president in 1872. It even pictures Horace in his hat and gives you a good look at his eccentric set of whiskers. Greeley always wore an overcoat and took an umbrella with him wherever he went. This 1 inch ferrotype gives you a good look at one of the most unusual of all major party presidential candidates. It is missing pin on back, has a scuff upper right.
