The Hoover Poppy Pin not only looks fantastic but also is one of the great political button stories of the 20th century. Herbert Hoover’s wife Lou wanted a special pin to take with her when she campaigned for her husband in their home state of California. A.G. Trimble came up with this colorful “Hoo But Hoover” pin that featured a poppy, the state flower of California. Mrs. Hoover loved the idea and passed the pins out on the campaign trail. This poppy pin comes from the Al Anderson collection – in fact, he got it directly from the Trimbles many years ago. It’s a 7/8 inch celluloid with A.G. Trimble back paper in excellent condition.
