Herbert Hoover and a California poppy are pictured on this iconic campaign pin. The story behind the pin is one of the things that make it so special. Herbert Hoover’s wife Lou wanted her own special pin to take with her when she campaigned for her husband in their home state of California. A.G. Trimble made this pin for alone. He came up with the answer: this “Hoo But Hoover” 7/8 inch celluloid that pictures a poppy, the state flower of California. A magnificent pin with A.G. Trimble back paper, excellent condition. At least one showed up with the letter from the woman who said it was personally presented to her by future, First Lady Lou Hoover.
