Warren Harding went on a train trip of the Pacific Coast in the summer of 1923 to drum up support for his policies. He called it the “Voyage of Understanding” but it turned out to be a different kind of voyage all together when Harding fell ill. He arrived in San Francisco on July 31 and died on Aug. 2 after suffering a heart attack. This 1 1/4 inch celluloid was made as a souvenir of that fateful trip. Few faint edge spots as often is the case with this pin, really is in better condition than most.
