A beautiful George Washington item believed to be from around 1790. This is a Washington battersea, used to tie back curtains. It is so named because these items were made in Battersea, England. This 2-inch china and brass item has a long screwback that went into the wall. You then tied your curtains to it, giving the president the job of holding your curtains back. It has some crazing but still looks great. An exceptional item.
