A rare and fascinating small pamphlet that defends Gen. Benjamin Butler, who was derisively called “Spoons” Butler because he allegedly pocketed quite a few silver spoons while serving as military governor of New Orleans during the Civil War. This 3 1/4 by 6 inch, 8-page pamphlet was printed in 1876 by the People’s Party defending Butler extolling his political virtues. Slight crease.
