Henry Tifft Gage was elected California governor and Jacob Neff was elected lieutenant governor in 1898. They are pictured on this scarce 1 1/4 inch celluloid from that election. Pin has a Tuttle and Co. back paper. Gage was an interesting fellow who denied the existence of the bubonic plague despite its appearance in California and supported the railroad against reform groups. Excellent condition.
