Rare 1 1/4 inch celluloid picturing suffragist Emma Willard. According to suffrage expert Ken Florey, this pin sometimes is misidentified as Alice Blackwell. It is Willard, who dedicated her life to education and founded the first school for women’s higher education, the Troy Female Seminary in Troy, N.Y. W+H BP, excellent.
