Dukakis-Kerry 1982 Massachusetts

One of two Kerry 1982 Massachusetts State Convention Pins in this auction. They're an interesting pair of pins from 1982. Edward King was the incumbent governor of Massachusetts who was being challenged by Mike Dukakis. John Kerry’s supporters wanted him in as lieutenant governor so they made these Dukakis/Kerry and King/Kerry pins for the state convention. After thinking it over, they decided not to distribute them widely so very few of these early Kerry pins are available. Each one is 2 1/4 inches, Eavenson collection. This is the Dukakis/Kerry pin.
