Mike Dukakis Desert Patrol rare 2 1/2 inch celluloid, excellent condition. After the 1988 Democratic State Convention a group of ladies from El Paso riding together had car trouble just outside of San Antonio. A highway patrolman stopped to help them. Don't remember exactly what the trouble was but the officer(s) got the car running and sent the ladies on their way. The officer told the ladies he would call ahead and get patrol officers to look for them on the way. The ladies proceeded on the way and acknowledged the highway patrol officers as they passed them all the way to El Paso, They christened themselves as the "Desert Patrol" and after arriving home they had the pins made. Norm Eavenson got his from one of the ladies later and they told him the story. Great to have a button that is inspired by a story. A truly rare Eavenson pin!
