A rare, early George Bush Texas campaign item. Bush was a congressman in 1970 when this celluloid pin was made. This is the only known example of this pin, which was made for a Washington fundraiser for Bush. At the urging of Richard Nixon, he ended up leaving the House and ran for the Senate, losing to Lloyd Bentsen. Bush got his revenge of sorts 18 years later when he beat Mike Dukakis and Bentsen in the 1988 presidential election. This 1 3/4 inch celluloid from 1970 is a seldom-seen Bush pin, excellent condition.
