Charles Evans Hughes was the last major party presidential candidate to sport a full beard. He also ended up with one of the all-time impressive political resumes of all time (governor, secretary of state, twice named to the U.S. Supreme Court). He also is the subject of this rare and very attractive campaign pin from 1916. It’s a 1 1/4 inch celluloid with striking design and sharp color and details. Excellent condition. Hughes is the toughest Republican candidate of the 20th century to get pins for.
